Our flagship program designed to help talented and dedicated student-athletes from Haiti achieve their academic and athletic goals here in the United States.

Our Scholarship USA Program provides direct financial aid and ongoing mentorship to student-athletes from Haiti looking to pursue post-secondary education opportunities in the United States. This program fully supports scholarship recipients throughout their academic and athletic journey by providing them with a safety net of resources along with the tools and skills necessary to succeed. We help these hardworking and inspiring young men and women to rise above their current circumstances as they strive to better themselves educationally, emotionally, mentally, and physically. All Scholarship USA participants receive intensive one-on-one help from a team of dedicated individuals that enables them to reach their goals and achieve wins in the classroom, on the court, and in life. Key benefits of the program for recipients include:

• Guidance navigating the school selection and application process

• Access to our network of volunteer ESL and academic tutors

• Funds for books, laptops, and other school supplies

• Stipends for food, housing, clothing and transportation expenses

• Legal help navigating US governmental paperwork and permit requirements

• Help securing access to work study programs and other types of part-time employment

• Access to basketball skills coaches and athletic training facilities

• Exposure and participation in local Hatian community resources and programs

• Access to mental health professionals for counseling and help obtaining health insurance

This program represents a shared commitment among scholarship recipients, Hoops For Haiti, and our partners. Our success together comes from applying a flexible approach tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of each program participant. We have cultivated an extensive and devoted network of community organizations, colleges, coaches, educators, administrators, mental health professionals, host families and others that we partner with to ensure each student-athlete has access to the resources necessary to realize immediate and lasting success.
